This is a free online calculator with two modes. Standard mode covers everyday arithmetic - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages - while scientific mode adds powers, square and cube roots, logarithms, trigonometry, factorials, constants like π and e, and parentheses for grouping. You can operate it by clicking the on-screen keys or by typing full expressions on your keyboard, and it evaluates them the moment you press equals.
A common frustration with simple calculators is that they evaluate strictly left to right, so 2 + 3 × 4 wrongly becomes 20. This calculator parses the whole expression and applies standard operator precedence - the rules you know as BODMAS or PEMDAS - so 2 + 3 × 4 correctly gives 14. Use parentheses to force a different order, for example (2 + 3) × 4 = 20. Powers are right-associative, so 2^2^3 is evaluated as 2^(2^3).
Scientific mode provides sin, cos, tan and their inverses, natural and base-10 logarithms (ln and log), exponentials, square root, cube root, powers, and factorial. Trigonometric functions respect the degrees / radians toggle, which matters enormously: sin(90) is 1 in degrees but about 0.894 in radians. Constants π and e are built in, so expressions such as sin(pi/2) or ln(e) work directly.
The memory keys mirror a physical calculator: M+ adds the current value to memory, M− subtracts it, MR recalls it and MC clears it, with an on-screen indicator showing the stored total. The Ans key inserts your previous result so you can chain calculations, and the running history lets you click any earlier result to reuse it - handy for multi-step work where each step builds on the last.
Because the display is a real input field, you can type expressions as fast as you think them: digits, + - * /, ^ for powers, parentheses, Enter to evaluate and Escape to clear. This makes it far quicker than hunting for buttons. And like every tool here, it runs entirely in your browser - your calculations are never sent to a server, there is no sign-up, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
