Quick answer

Calculator is a free, private online tool that lets you a free online calculator with standard and scientific modes: arithmetic, powers, roots, logarithms, trigonometry, factorials and memory. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded to a server.

How to use the Calculator

  1. Type your calculation or click the buttons — for example (2+3)*4 then press = (or Enter).
  2. Switch to the Scientific tab for powers (x^y), roots, logarithms, trigonometry, π, e and factorials.
  3. For trig, choose DEG or RAD; use M+, MR and MC for memory and Ans to reuse the last result.
  4. Press Esc or C to clear, and click any line in the history to bring it back. Everything runs in your browser.

Privacy: this tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never sent to, received by, or stored on any server — there are no uploads and no tracking of what you enter.

About Calculator

Standard and scientific modes

Start in standard mode for everyday sums — add, subtract, multiply, divide and percentages. Switch to scientific mode for powers, square and cube roots, logarithms (ln and log), trigonometry (sin, cos, tan and inverses), π, e, factorials and parentheses.

Type or click

Use the on-screen buttons or your keyboard. Digits, + − × ÷, ^, parentheses, Enter to equals and Escape to clear all work, so you can calculate as fast as you can type.

Memory and history

Store a running value with M+, M−, MR and MC, reuse the last answer with Ans, and click any line in the history to bring it back. Degrees or radians can be toggled for trig.

Frequently asked questions

Is this calculator free?
Yes — it is completely free, with no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser.
How do I use the scientific calculator?
Click the Scientific tab to reveal powers, roots, logarithms, trigonometry, π, e and factorials. Choose degrees or radians for trig functions.
Can I use my keyboard?
Yes — type digits and operators directly, press Enter to calculate and Escape to clear. The display accepts full expressions like (2+3)*4.
Does it follow order of operations?
Yes — it respects standard operator precedence (BODMAS/PEMDAS), so 2+3×4 correctly gives 14, and you can use parentheses to group.
Is my data private?
Completely. Every calculation happens locally in your browser and nothing is sent to a server or stored online.

Understanding Calculator in depth

What this calculator does

This is a free online calculator with two modes. Standard mode covers everyday arithmetic - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages - while scientific mode adds powers, square and cube roots, logarithms, trigonometry, factorials, constants like π and e, and parentheses for grouping. You can operate it by clicking the on-screen keys or by typing full expressions on your keyboard, and it evaluates them the moment you press equals.

Order of operations, done right

A common frustration with simple calculators is that they evaluate strictly left to right, so 2 + 3 × 4 wrongly becomes 20. This calculator parses the whole expression and applies standard operator precedence - the rules you know as BODMAS or PEMDAS - so 2 + 3 × 4 correctly gives 14. Use parentheses to force a different order, for example (2 + 3) × 4 = 20. Powers are right-associative, so 2^2^3 is evaluated as 2^(2^3).

Scientific functions and angle modes

Scientific mode provides sin, cos, tan and their inverses, natural and base-10 logarithms (ln and log), exponentials, square root, cube root, powers, and factorial. Trigonometric functions respect the degrees / radians toggle, which matters enormously: sin(90) is 1 in degrees but about 0.894 in radians. Constants π and e are built in, so expressions such as sin(pi/2) or ln(e) work directly.

Memory, history and the last answer

The memory keys mirror a physical calculator: M+ adds the current value to memory, M− subtracts it, MR recalls it and MC clears it, with an on-screen indicator showing the stored total. The Ans key inserts your previous result so you can chain calculations, and the running history lets you click any earlier result to reuse it - handy for multi-step work where each step builds on the last.

Keyboard support and privacy

Because the display is a real input field, you can type expressions as fast as you think them: digits, + - * /, ^ for powers, parentheses, Enter to evaluate and Escape to clear. This makes it far quicker than hunting for buttons. And like every tool here, it runs entirely in your browser - your calculations are never sent to a server, there is no sign-up, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
