A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores data - most often a web link - in a pattern of black and white squares that any modern phone camera can read instantly. They bridge the physical and digital worlds: a poster, menu, business card or product can carry a scannable link with no typing required.
The data is encoded into the grid of modules (squares), with built-in error correction that lets the code still scan even if part of it is dirty, damaged or covered by a logo. The three large squares in the corners are finder patterns that tell a scanner where the code is and how it is oriented. More data means a denser grid.
Beyond plain links, QR codes can encode structured data. This generator supports Wi-Fi codes that join a network automatically when scanned (using the special WIFI: format with the network name, password and security type), as well as any text or URL. That makes it easy to share guest Wi-Fi without reading out a long password.
