A date difference calculator counts the time between two dates and expresses it in days, weeks, months and years. It answers questions like how many days until the deadline, how long ago was that, or how many weeks between these two milestones - without manual calendar counting.
Months have 28 to 31 days and leap years add a day, so working out a span across several months by hand is easy to get wrong. The calculator counts the actual elapsed days between the dates precisely, then derives the approximate weeks, months and years from that exact day count.
The day count is exact. Weeks, months and years are approximations derived from it, using 7-day weeks, 30.44-day average months and 365.25-day years, because real months and years vary in length. For day-level precision (contracts, notice periods, countdowns) rely on the day figure; use the larger units for a human-friendly sense of scale.
You can enter the dates in either order - the calculator reports the absolute span between them, so it works equally for past and future. That makes it useful both for elapsed time (how long since an event) and remaining time (how long until a deadline).
